Yellowstone Art Museum
I’m so very grateful to contribute to and be part of this art community. This year, I submitted 4 works to the Yellowstone Art Museum & am so excited to share that they chose one of my encaustic black and white line pieces. I feel very blessed. The museum had over 800 works of art submitted from artists across the country. They ultimately chose about 300 pieces for this year’s auction event.
The event is online this year, but you can still bid and purchase works until March 6, 2021. The museum is open to view the exhibit. My personal favorite is the piece by Soojin Choi.
When I went to see the show, the critic came out inside of me – oddly wishing that a different piece of mine would of been chosen, or that I would of done something different to the piece that they had, or that they could see my new works. I had to take a breather to ground myself. I had to remind myself that it is a gift that I get to create and be creative.
My experience with loss has given me perspective. I remind myself to listen to John O’Donahue and one of my favorite blessings, ”May I have the courage today to live the life I would love, to postpone my dream no longer, but to do at last what I came here for and waste my heart on fear no more.”
I consider myself an emerging artist – working in art daily, finding myself, finding joy and finding my style.
