How Not to Lose an Eyebrow
I have two boys, River and Cash. In our family, if you declared something & someone said “eyebrow” while you were declaring, you HAD to go through with it. If you you didn’t, you agreed to have an eyebrow shaved off. For example, if I said, “I’m going write a book!” and someone said, “Eyebrow!” then I better write that book if I wanted to keep an eyebrow.
I have always been a private person – I joined Facebook only recently because I had to for an art class. I was quickly convinced that I want to share my art and my journey. I enjoy connection with people and projects, so I kept declaring that I was going to build an actual website. Not surprisingly, my son Cash “eyebrowed” me. We made a deal that if I didn’t have a website up & going by my birthday (April 10, 2020) that he could shave off an eyebrow. During this same time, I met an amazing group of women who became fans of my work & often pestered me that they couldn’t share my work without a website. They learned of my deal & thus, a plan was made to keep me on track.
My world was unexpectedly flipped when my son Cash was tragically killed in an accident on December 1, 2019. He was such a joy and “glue” to our family. He kept us all together with his light. I will miss him everyday of my life and will live my life celebrating him and living in a way that he would be proud. He would “send it” and smile. Cash will forever be in my heart. I kept the promise of this “eyebrow” and, thankfully, get to launch my website on time.
A shout out to Allison Kazmierski (Font & Figure.) She’s been instrumental in getting this project lifted and is great to work with.
I dedicate this website and my journey to my boys, River and Cash Taylor.
